Our name is a spoof on the term Stochastic Parrots, which is a term researchers (Emily Bender et al.) have given AI large language models like ChatGPT. According to E. Bender, a Stochastic Parrot (stochastic = random process) is an AI model which haphazardly stitches together words sequences according to probabilistic information about how they combine, but without any reference to meaning. Instead of hallucinating and generating bullshit our clothes feature bespoke, and some would say radical messages, on social topics, climate, and tech issues.
